We enter August, and the dog days of summer. Time to think of those fellows (and their significant others) who spend the season making serious attempts at playing a children’s game. Why didn’t their show work? Some ideas are just better made for popular television than others… for a reason.
…a minor-league team filled with wanna-bes and might-have-beens.
…the baseball was soon forgotten in favor of the game of life.
…they didn’t come with the shorthand used for “crooks”, “defendants”, or “patients”.
“You’re a double-A has-been in a nowhere double-A town.”
But then, it would be much less special, much more ordinary, in the realm of typical television fare…
